Enter the Client ID, Secret Key, and Browser Key

To complete the Google Drive™ setup, enter the Client Identifier to connect with Aspen. Each client key has a corresponding secret and set of redirect URLs. Then enter the browser key to enable students to submit a Google Docs™ document for an assignment.

Note: To keep the data secure, each district needs to create their own client key.
  1. At the top of the Google Developers Console page, click Navigation menu icon.
  2. In the side-bar, select APIs & Services > Credentials. The Credentials screen appears.

  1. Click the Follett Aspen line item. The "Client ID for Web application" appears.
  2. Note: The Client ID, Client secret, and Browser key are needed for the next steps. It is recommended that you open two browser windows.
  1. In Aspen, log on to the District view.
  2. Click the District tab, and then select Setup > Preferences.
  3. Click the Category drop-down to select Remote Services. The Remote Services preferences page defaults to the Basic sub-tab.
  4. Click the Advanced tab to access the Google Drive preferences.

  1. On the Google Developers Console's Credentials screen, copy the information in the Client ID field, and paste it into the Client ID field in Aspen.
  2. On the Google Developers Console's Credentials screen, copy the information in the Client secret field, and paste it into the Client Secret field in Aspen.
    Note: To keep data secure, the characters are replaced with *****.
  1. On the Google Developers Console's Credentials screen, under API keys, find the browser key you created for Aspen. Copy the information in the Key field, and paste it into the Browser Key field in Aspen.
  2. Click Save.
